This heavy and completely solidly built sterling silver iron cross is classified as a 'cross patée'. The 'Cross patée' definition describes a crucifix with 4 parts growing thicker as they move away from the center of the cross. Although today this cross is associated to the Nazi regime who used this symbol, it belongs to our collection as it first appeared in Byzantine emblematic heritage and later in the Crusades and fraternities such as the nights templar. It is approximately 3mm thick making it extremely substancial in weight and heavy in solid silver.
