At his most known role, the god of prophesy he was the Oracular patron god of the Delphic oracle. Apollo was also known as the god of music and poetry , leader of the muses (Apollo Musagetes) and protector of all arts.
Apollo is usually depicted as a handsome beardless young man, often holding a kithara (lyre/ lyra) or a bow in his hand, His symbols were: lyre, laurel wreath, python, raven, bow and arrows
