This piece belongs to a fabulous range of torc jewelry that our workshop boasts a speciality towards. Such intricate and quality-made pieces demonstrate the characteristic unique value of greek artisan silversmithery with all its diachronic finess.
Torc jewelry describes ancient jewelry that was open ended in the front (as necklaces or bracelets) and usually contained decorative ornate animal heads on either side of the opening. This motif renders the attributes of design and decoration of gold and silver artifacts from the archaic period. There are great similarities found between celtic and Greek torcs of this type, as this rhythm was known to have existed all over Europe. The oldest type of torc (or torque latin) jewelry known were excavated in classical Greek burial tombs. Famous celric torcs, much later were also found in tombs of Celtic princes. Many historians argue that they were a sign of nobility while others suggest the torc to have been a decoration awarded to warriors for their deeds in battle. Before this predominantly masculine form of decoration, torc jewelry is know to have also been a feminine form of jewelry (before 4 B.C)

A most excellent jewelry piece
I don't typically write reviews except for exceptional circumstances. I have been desiring a good quality torque bracelet for years but never saw anything that jumped out at me. I happened upon the 'Greek Jewelry' line while searching on-line. In a world of corporate mass production and cheap rip offs it was refreshing to encounter a company that's been in business for decades and who specializes in quality reproductions of ancient jewelry items, hand made by experienced silversmiths and custom-ed fitted to size. My lion Torque Bracelet is a unique piece of jewelry in my area (Nova Scotia) and I have gotten a lot of interest from it. It's heavy and emits bold finesse in the workmanship. It was well worth my investment. I understand that it has a life guarantee as well. The only thing that I can foresee breaking is the hidden tension wire/spring that enables the bracelet to expand and contract when putting it on or taking it off, though I can't say that it will break, but if it should it would have to be repaired.
The ancient Greeks idolized intellect and spirit, while gods shared mortal passions and flaws to make themselves more accessible to humans. Beauty and harmony were truly at the heart of the ancient Greek civilization. This never fails to inspire our intellectual, scientific and spiritual worlds.
